Born in Ames, Iowa, Mikel Nguyen began his culinary journey at a young age. His family owned and operated a restaurant specializing in traditional Vietnamese cuisine. He developed his passion for cooking by watching, learning, and helping alongside his parents and Aunt Khe. It was through these experiences that Mikel fell in love with providing guests with an unforgettable dining experience. Mikel pursued this passion at Iowa State University, where he graduated with a degree in hospitality management. He left school with one goal in mind — opening his own restaurant.

Arcadia will offer a wide variety of dishes and flavors, inspired by Mikel’s upbringing, and blended with his take on modern American cuisine. His dishes preserve their Vietnamese roots while surprising and delighting guests with contemporary twists. Arcadia strives to provide an inviting atmosphere with first-class service.
